Gathered & Grown is owned and run by Ceri and Ben Richards. We're dedicated to making the highest quality herbal teas and products in a way that supports and improves our environment.
Ceri started creating tea in 2018, making seasonal blends from foraged ingredients. This sowed a seed and after working in a market garden we decided to take the leap and in 2022 we bought 5 acres of land here in East Devon.
With a background in ecology, foraging and horticulture, Ceri is in charge of the growing, drying and blending of our teas, with Ben helping on all things practical, admin and digital.
Our
Story
As new entrant farmers with a bare field previously used as horse pasture, we started our herb farm from scratch. This meant applying for planning permission, living temporarily on site in yurts, building all of the infrastructure and creating new growing areas and wildlife habitats.
So far we have planted an orchard of traditional fruit varieties, are establishing a meadow, planted over 1,500 hedgerow trees and installed various bird and insect boxes. There's still a long way to go, but we're excited to be able to make our lovely teas and, in the future, plan to offer more amazing products grown here on our farm.
